Serving Vail Valley for more than 30 years, the Vail branch of the Salvation Army promotes the core Salvation Army values - to feed, to clothe, to comfort, to care. Throughout the Valley, Salvation Army Vail supports the community with events, programs and volunteer opportunities. Traer Creek has provided land and a headquarter space for the Salvation Army since 2007 on land that was once the Avon Stolport. In addition, Traer Creek has donated space every year to allow Salvation Army to do a food and charity drive at Traer Creek Plaza.

"Traer Creek has been very, very generous to us,” said Tsu Wolin-Brown, coordinator for The Salvation Army Vail. “They’ve given us a building we’re located in and we don’t have to pay rent, just maintenance and utilities. They even snowplow for us out of the goodness of their hearts.”

The Traer Creek Ambulance Response Station is the third station in the Eagle County Paramedics District. This 11,416 square foot building houses a 24-hour, three ambulance crew. Serving from Vail Pass to Wolcott, the centralized location reduces wait-times by one-minute for emergency calls. The land needed to construct the station was donated by Traer Creek, and following Traer Creek Plaza's lead has achieved a Silver LEED certification.

“We estimate the new Traer Creek station will allow us to improve response times to popular areas,” said Fred Morrison, the ambulance district’s general manager. “We’ll cut our response time to places like Minturn and Eagle-Vail by five-and-a-half minutes, and we can get to the center of Avon three minutes faster. That’s important as we watch our communities grow.” - Vail Daily

Nestled between the Home Depot and Walmart Supercenter stores in the Traer Creek Plaza is a park designated for the public and employees of the various shops within the shopping center. The park creates a quiet green space for visitors to relax, listening to the water fall, basking in the sun, and enjoying the beautiful mountain views. The massive rock that sits in the water feature was found on site and placed in the park.
